this zine is for the person who was fighting to survive.
this zine is from the person who survived.
a queer person’s thoughts while growing up in eastern europe
“in dulapul 92” (romanian for “in the 92 closet”) is a zine exploring two clashing feelings about growing up queer in Romania, through (bad) poetry and photography.
TEXTS
the (bad) poetry and notes are from the years 2011-2014 (I was 19 years old), a period in which I was still in the closet.
these texts, both in Romanian and English, explore the feelings of loneliness, sadness, and resentment towards my sexuality that I had while living in Romania
PHOTOS
the images (films and polaroids) are from 2022-2023 (the beginning of my 30s), a period in which I experienced the exact opposite feeling, after leaving Romania and moving to The Netherlands
